Hand-Forged Curved Boning Knife with Sheath (Set of 2)

Who it's for

For home cooks and grillers who trim, debone and portion meat or fish and like a heavy, curved, rustic-looking knife. Skip it if you expect a razor-sharp edge out of the box: several buyers say it needs sharpening (see below).

What it is

A curved boning knife with a hammered-finish high-carbon steel blade (5CrMoV15, per the supplier), a brown wooden handle with rivets and a finger hole, and a leather sheath. You get 2 knives with 2 sheaths.

Box for one knife: 31.7 × 9.2 × 2.5 cm (12.5 × 3.6 × 1 in); the set of 2 ships in a 32 × 10 × 10 cm box, 720 g (1.6 lb).

The supplier does not state the blade length; we will measure it on a sample.

How we prove it

Scenario: New product. Trust comes from what we can show you, not from star ratings.

• Official supplier data (size, material, stock in the US warehouse, shipping time), checked on 2026-10-29.
• Every photo checked one by one against the exact version we sell.
• Reviews from buyers of other stores, shown with their date and source, low ratings included. They are a signal, not our proof.
• Our own hands-on test of a sample: pending. Until it is done, this report says so, and we tell you exactly what is still unproven.

What the lower ratings say, in their words (translated):

• "A very low-quality knife, not actually sharp as expected, and it also rusts." (1★, Israel)
• "It looks good, but it is barely sharp, hardly cuts bread, nothing like the ad." (1★, Israel)
• "Looks great in the video, but don't be fooled: it needs sharpening; not like the original." (1★, Israel)
• "The quality wasn't what I expected; too much money for a piece of metal. I sent it back." (2★, Germany)
• "The knife does not have the promised properties." (3★, Germany)

What we checked ourselves

• Photos vs. name: curved hammered blade, brown riveted handle with finger hole, leather sheath, 2 pieces (10/29/2026).
• Weight and box size of the exact variant we sell.
• Ships from the supplier's US warehouse: 1,852 units there today. 3–8 days.
• Hands-on test of a sample (sharpness out of the box, rust after washing): pending. This is the test that decides whether we sell it.
• 3D model with the Tavrov ruler at real scale: pending.

Cons

• Edge sharpness out of the box is the main complaint (4 of the 6 low ratings).
• High-carbon steel can rust: dry it right after washing and oil it now and then.
• Heavy and rustic: not a fine slicing knife.

US compliance (what we can prove)

• CPSC recall database (saferproducts.gov, official records) searched October 2026 for "boning knife": no recall on record.

Safety

Very sharp tool: keep it in its sheath and out of children's reach. Hand-wash only. Shipped in a strong box with padding, as US Postal Service rules require for sharp instruments (USPS Publication 52, section 443.1).
